I get asked all the time when the best time is to book a newborn session, the answer…while you are still pregnant
I photograph most (if not all) newborns between 5-10 days old, at this time mom is starting to feel better and the baby is still young enough to be sleepy and “curled up.” I pencil in the due dates of my clients who are expecting and once the baby is born we finalize our plans and set a time. I typically start booking newborns when mom has reached the 20 week mark, and done their “big” ultrasound, so anytime between 20-36 weeks gestation is usually the best time to book.
